Primary to Secondary Transition
We are delighted that you have chosen The Weston Road Academy as the place for your secondary education from September. To help support the transition from primary school to secondary school we have put together a seven week transition programme starting week commencing 24th May.
Week 1 : 24th May 2021 - Be Awesome!
Week 2 : 7th June 2021 - Unlocking your Mind
You will find an introduction from key members of staff here and a message from your new form tutor here. (Details of individual tutors will be emailed to you direct). Please complete 'the best of me' postcard and return to your tutor so we can get to know a little bit about you before September!
Week 3 : 14th June 2021 - Making the change
You will find some videos of some year 8 students talking about subjects they have experienced in high school here, together with a map of the school here, to give you an idea of the areas within the school. Our week 3 resource, making the change is below, please read the document and have a go at the activity. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the office direct or your new tutor.
Week 4 : 21st June - Lost but not Lost
Week 5 : 28th June - Bounceability
Week 6 : 5th July - Superhero

At this stage, students are now ready for life at the Weston Road Academy.
A 'Be Extraordinary' certificate for you to share with your child and congratulate them on completing the transition programme is below.
