School Canteen Transition

At Weston Road Academy we operate a cashless catering system, offering a range of nutritious hot and cold meals, including a vegetarian option, together with a snack offering during break time each day.

Our cashless system will recognise the thumb (or finger) print of your child at the pay points and the tills.  No cash is accepted at the till point.  All payments and transactions are made via ParentPay.

Using this system increases the speed of the service that our catering team are able to provide to students and reduce the queuing and waiting times during break and lunch times.

Free School Meals: Is your child eligible for free school meals?

Parents claiming some benefits can claim free school meals for any children who are registered at a Staffordshire school and who would normally be at school at lunch time. School meals are a good way to ensure that your child eats well at lunchtime and you can save yourself time and money.

If you meet the criteria, you need to apply online.  It only takes a few minutes and you receive an instant yes or no as to whether you are entitled to free school meals.
