Welcome to The Weston Road Academy. The Weston Road Academy is recognised by Ofsted as being a good school with some outstanding features (Ofsted October 2013).
Our mission is for our students to be well-qualified, happy, confident and compassionate. We value all our students equally, striving both to respond to their individual needs and to instil an enjoyment in learning that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
We firmly believe that young people learn best when there is strong partnership and understanding between the Academy and home. We very much share your ambition for your child and value your support. We want your child to reach their potential and this means opening their mind to new ideas and opportunities as well as encouraging considerate and compassionate behaviour.
We will work hard to develop our partnership with you, keeping you informed by letters, website (www.westonroad.staffs.sch.uk) and newsletters. We will listen to your views and invite you to take part in information evenings and workshops at key points in your child’s journey through the Academy.
We want you also to be involved in your child’s experience in the Academy. We hope that you will express your ideas directly or through Parent Governors, and we welcome feedback as it helps us consider what we do well and how we can improve. Your interest in your child’s learning, support for things like homework and attendance, and good communication between home and the Academy can be key to their success.
Finally, we wish you a warm welcome to the Weston Road Academy. We very much look forward to working with you to ensure a great education for your child.
Mrs A Kingman, Acting Principal
