In Touch Messages - Leavers

Please note that when messages are sent via InTouch we only have the ability to select currently on roll pupils/contacts or leaver pupils/contacts.  This means we are then able to contact leavers for such activities as presentation evening for example.  For the general whole school mailings contacts would automatically be excluded from the selection once your child’s record has been marked as left.  The relevant Year 11 pupil records will be marked as ‘Leavers’ by the end of this week once we know who is confirmed as returning to 6th Form or not, at which point any general mailings should cease.

Delight at GCSE Results

The academy is extremely proud of the GCSE results, demonstrating the hard work and achievement of the pupils and teaching staff.  We are celebrating 100% pass rate across the academy, with results in English and Maths better than expected.  There were some outstanding individual results, with one pupil achieving the 9 and seven A* grades.

Headteacher Ann Kingman commented, 'I am delighted with the performance of our pupils.  Both staff and pupils, supported by their parents, have worked extremely hard, showing belief and aspiration to achieve these outcomes.  They were an excellent year group and have not disappointed.'

Students Celebrate A Level Success

A Level students and staff at the Weston Road Academy are celebrating A Level results this year with a 99% pass rate, with approximately two thirds of entries resulting in A*-B grades and over 80% at grade C or higher.  Over a quarter of students achieved at least 3 A Level grades at A*-C.  Stand out subjects were Art with 100%, ICT with 100% and History with 83% A*-B grades.  The best results were 2A* and 2A grades. The vast majority of students secured places at the University of their choice.

Headteacher Ann Kingman commented: "The Academy is delighted with our A Level results this year and these results show the quality and ambition of our students.  They also reflect the atmosphere of our sixth form and our innovative teaching".
